350MW Renewable Energy Project Started By Modi In Rajasthan; Share Only ₹251

NLC India Ltd (NSE: NLCINDIA) share: Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid down the groundwork for the 300MW size solar power project for NLC India Ltd in Barsingsar, Rajasthan. Meanwhile, on Friday the share price of NLC India closed at Rs 253. 

Last Friday the share price reached Rs 262.80. This share had reached the level of Rs 293.60 on February 5. 

This is a 52-week high of NLC India shares. Let us tell you that on March 2023, the share price had gone to Rs 69.79, which is the 52-week low of the share.

Speaking at the videoconference Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the country is progressing at a rapid speed in the generation of solar energy. To give impetus to this mission, the foundation stone of different projects has been laid. 

He said that the projects would provide green and affordable electricity to the area and provide excellent employment opportunities for the youth.

What Did The Company Say?

NLC India said the total cost of its solar projects is estimated to be Rs 1,756 crore. It is scheduled to go live in September.

The project is strategically located near the existing Barsingsar Thermal Power Station which benefits from power extraction through the existing network, and utilization of common infrastructure facilities.

As per the statement of the company, they have signed an energy usage arrangement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for Rs 2.52 per unit to cover the total capability of 300 MW.

The company is involved in lignite mining, which has a capacity of around 30.1 million tonnes per year, and coal mining, which has a production capacity of about 20 MTPA.

The Company operates five thermal power plants that are based on lignite with four located at Neyveli within Tamil Nadu and one at Barsingsar located in Rajasthan which has an aggregate capacity of around 3.640 megawatts (MW).

The capacity of renewable energy is about 1,421.06 milliwatts, from which 1,370.06 MW comes from solar energy while 51 MW comes from wind power sources.
