500 Gigawatt Renewable Energy Target By 2030; Reliance, Adani Will Get Benefits

Green hydrogen electrolyzer: Keeping in mind the increasing pollution problem in India, the Indian government wants to increase renewable energy production.

For which the Indian government has set a target of taking the renewable energy production capacity to 500 gigawatts by 2030.

Out of which the target of renewable energy production capacity of about 200 gigawatts has also been achieved this year.

To achieve this target of renewable energy, the most used energy sources are hydropower, wind energy, and solar energy.

But to achieve this big target of renewable energy, the country also needs to focus on other renewable energy sources.

The most popular of which is green hydrogen electrolyzers, which are capable of producing energy and can be used for fuel in transportation, for the production of which water is broken into hydrogen and oxygen molecules through the electrolysis method, in which the most important are electrolyzers.

There Is A Need To Manufacture Green Hydrogen Electrolyzers

The government of the country wants to operate vehicles with the help of green hydrogen electrolyzers and also wants to produce renewable energy for which the need for electrolyzers is going to increase.

In the manufacture of a green hydrogen electrolyzer, the work of separating hydrogen and oxygen molecules from water is done.

At present, the electrolyzer used for green hydrogen produced in the country is imported from other countries. Which shows India’s electrolyzer dependence on other countries.

Due to the high price of electrolyzers imported from other countries, the price of green hydrogen produced in the country is also seen to increase.

The Indian government wants to set up a manufacturing unit of green hydrogen electrolyzers in the country itself so that the prices of green hydrogen can be controlled by reducing the price of the electrolyzer.

Many Big Companies In The Country Will Make Green Hydrogen Electrolyzer

To reduce its dependence on the global market for electrolyzers used for the production of green hydrogen, Solar Energy Corporation of India started the selection process of electrolyzer manufacturers to set up a capacity of 1.5 GW in 2023.

Along with this, eight companies in the country had won bids for the incentive scheme i.e. PLI for green hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing.

Companies that include John Cockerill Greenko Hydrogen, L&T Electrolyzers, Reliance Electrolyzer Manufacturing, Adani New Industries, Jindal India, Ohmium Operations, Advait Infratech and Homihydrogen.

All these companies are going to be seen manufacturing electrolyzers in the coming time. Due to this, the shares of these companies can see a huge boom.

Government Aims To Create 5 Million Tons Of Green Hydrogen

The amount of carbon emissions in India is constantly increasing and the cities of the country are the most affected by this carbon emission.

40 to 60% of the carbon emissions in the city are harmful like carbon dioxide emitted by vehicles.

Because of this, the Indian government wants to encourage vehicles running on green hydrogen in the country.

Apart from this, the government wants to expand renewable energy in the country in every possible way, for which the help of green hydrogen is also going to be taken.

The Indian government has set a target to take the production of green hydrogen to 5 million metric tons by 2030, with the help of which 125 gigawatts of renewable energy will be produced in 2030.
