Salaar vs Dunki advance box office: Prabhas-starrer trails behind Shah Rukh Khan’s film, sells 150000 tickets
Telugu actor Prabhas is all set to grace the silver screen with his upcoming film Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1, which is slated to release on December 22. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Salaar has already collected Rs 3.58 crore through advance bookings, high sales. 150,000 tickets.
The largest number of tickets, an impressive 84,000, were sold in the Telugu-speaking region, followed by the Malayalam-speaking region with over 42,000 tickets. In the Hindi speaking region, Salaar has booked more than 18,000 seats.
However, the film is facing stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated Dunki, which is slated to release on December 21. The competition is evident in their advance bookings, with the SRK-starrer leading with Rs 4.46 crore in advance bookings. Both the films opened their screens on December 15. Shah Rukh Khan’s recent success with Jawan and Pathaan gives Dunki an edge, making him a formidable opponent to Prabhas’s Salaar.
Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, Salaar stars, including Prabhas Raju Uppalapati, Shruthi Haasan, and Madhu Guruswamy in pivotal roles. Previously, the developer of Salaar Vijay Kirgandur discussed the conflict with Dunki in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. Vijay said that the group does not want things to get “bad” and is taking part in protests with distributors.
“When we release individually, the occupancy is around 60-70%. Some screenings will go to Aquaman but between Salaar and Dunki, we hope to get 50-50 screenings in the best conditions. In that case, if 90-100% occupancy is achieved, it will be a good result for both movies. ,” he said.
