Clash with a Congress Worker: On 28 January 2018, the Delhi Police registered two FIRs related to an incident involving Amanatullah. One FIR was filed by Faizan Sarkar, a Congress worker who claimed that Khan and his supporters beat him up around 3 pm while he was walking home after being hit by a car. Yaser, who filed the second FIR, claimed that during the same incident Sarkar also attacked Khan.
Chief Secretary Assault Case: On 20 February 2018, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash filed a case against Khan and politician Prakash Jarwal and accused them of slapping and abusing him. In 2021, a Delhi court dismissed the case against them due to lack of evidence.
A History-Sheeter: On 30 March 2022, Delhi Police labelled Khan a ‘Bad Character’ and a ‘history-sheeter’ as the authorities had recorded 18 FIRs against him. The order noted his involvement in land grabbing and violent offences and recommended increased monitoring of his activities. On 13 May 2022, he was arrested for protesting an anti-encroachment drive in Delhi.
Waqf Board Corruption Case: On 16 September 2022, Khan was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities during his tenure as chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. He was accused of illegal recruitments, misappropriation of funds, and renting out Waqf Board properties illegally. On 26 September, Khan was sent to judicial custody. However, he was released on bail on 28 September by a Delhi court. On 2 September 2024, Khan was arrested again by the ED under similar allegations.
