20000 Crore Investment By Tata Group In Green Energy, Stocks Expected To Rise

Green energy: Ever since the Indian government has set a target of taking the green energy production capacity to 500 gigawatts by 2030.

The country’s private companies are also seen focusing on renewable energy and increasing the investment amount to increase their renewable energy production capacity.

Just a few days ago, Adani Group and Reliance Group announced an increase in the investment amount to increase the green energy production capacity. 

But now Tata Group has also entered it.

The Chairman of Tata Power announced that Tata Power (NSE: TATAPOWER) is going to invest Rs 20,000 crore in the field of renewable energy in the financial year 2025.

Tata Power Will Increase The Production Of Green Energy

In the recently held 105th Annual General Meeting of Tata Power, the presence of many senior officials of the company and the Chairman was seen. 

In this Annual General Meeting, the company’s chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran told the shareholders that Tata Power is planning to invest Rs 20,000 crore in the financial year 2025. 

A large part of the amount to be invested will be used to expand the production capacity of renewable energy.

Along with this, he says that the company is trying to accelerate its renewable energy portfolio, transmission, and distribution business. 

The company’s chairman gives more information about the use of investment amount. 

After the Indian government has permitted small modular nuclear reactors, the company will also be seen looking for opportunities in this area. 

Along with this, the company is working on a plan to distribute electricity in many states of the country, which will be implemented after the permission of the government.

The Company’s Target Is 15 GW Production Capacity

Tata Power’s Chairman discusses the company’s Green energy target. 

Apart from the investment amount he said that Tata Power’s current renewable energy production capacity is 9 GW but the company wants to achieve 15 GW Green energy production capacity in the coming 5 years. 

Due to this, the company will be able to expand its energy distribution business. 

The company currently distributes electricity to more than 1.25 crore consumers but the company wants to take it to 5 crore consumers in the coming years.

Clean Energy Should Be Used In The Industrial Sector

The country is moving towards a manufacturing hub due to which industrialization is being seen in the country.

Due to this, the number of industrial plants in the country is increasing, hence there is an increase in the industrial energy consumption of the country.

Tata Power’s Chairman says that the company is also keeping an eye on the industrial sector because the company wants to provide 24-hour clean energy in this sector. 

Apart from this, he says that the country seems to be in a good position to lead the necessary change in the field of renewable energy.

Target To Solarize Homes With Rooftop Solar

Tata Power wants to solarize the homes of the country with the help of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. 

It has already implemented more than 2 gigawatts of roofing projects. At present, Tata Power also has an order book of Rs 2800 crore.

In the Annual General Meeting, the Chairman said that the company is now continuously expanding in the field of charging. 

At present, the company has more than 5500 public and captive chargers in more than 530 cities of the country.

The company has installed more than 86,000 home chargers in the last few years.
