On September 12, 2023, Dino de Leon and his fellow lawyers of former Senator Leila de Lima filed an administrative complaint against Muntinlupa RTC Branch 256 Judge Romeo Buenaventura for his delayed inhibition from one of her drug cases.
They accused the judge of violating the Code of Judicial Conduct and the Rules of Court for failing to disclose his relationship with his brother, who was a former counsel of a co-accused of De Lima in another case. They also claimed that the judge’s inhibition was tainted with impropriety and prejudice, as it came after he had already issued several adverse orders against De Lima. They asked the Judicial Integrity Board to investigate the judge and impose appropriate sanctions on him.
