Heeramandi The Diamond Bazaar is the upcoming magnum opus series by legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is popular for historical and period drama movies. Bhansali Productions joined hands with Netflix to bankroll this series. It features talented and gorgeous actors that include Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles. Netflix has partnered with this epic project, and it will be premiering soon on their platform.
This series has eight episodes that explore stories of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi (an area of Lahore, which is now in Pakistan), a dazzling district during pre-Independence India. Sanjay Leela Bhansali will pilot the first episode, and the remaining 6 episodes will be directed by Vibhu Singh, who assisted Sanjay Bhansali on Saawariya, Guzaarish, and more. The Heeramandi web series’ full episodes will be premiered on Netflix in 2024
