GTA 6, the next entry in Rockstar’s prestigious Grand Theft Auto franchise, will be released in 2025. So far, they’ve only released one trailer, but it revealed a lot about what the next game will contain. Players have to look at the map, heroes and many other details. However, this has prompted many to take a look at the series and make a list of things they would like to see in the next game.

These are important features that were either missing or not always implemented correctly in newer titles. With how long Grand Theft Auto 6 has been in development and how much hype it has generated, fans are expecting to see these features in it. 3 The most important features that GTA 6 should have

1) Adjustable field of view

The upcoming game needs a more adjustable FOV slider, as the FOV setting in GTA 5 is very restrictive. Grand Theft Auto 5 was the first game in the series to feature a first-person camera mode, and this was exclusive to the Enhanced Edition, which was released on PC in 2015. Although Rockstar included the ability to adjust the FOV (field of view), the values were Very low.

Grand Theft Auto 5 comes with a very narrow field of view by default, which is around 85 degrees horizontally and 55 degrees vertically. As a result, the game feels strangely claustrophobic in first-person camera mode. This is exacerbated while driving vehicles, where the perspective appears magnified. The dashboard is completely obscured, while the windshield is only partially visible.

Although the first-person perspective feature was released in 2015, Rockstar Games has yet to increase the FOV values in the game. Hopefully they’ll implement a better FOV slider in Grand Theft Auto 6. Since this feature is present in most modern titles, there’s not much more to ask for.

2) Selectable objects

The ability to pick up items and use them should be another vital feature that should be present in GTA 6. This feature was implemented back in Grand Theft Auto 4, and did not appear in the next game. Niko Bellic can pick up a variety of random items such as bricks, bottles, and cans and throw them at NPCs.

This feature could be further improved in the next game by allowing players to pick up larger objects and use them as makeshift weapons. As revealed by 2022 leaks, it is rumored that Rockstar will bring back this feature to some extent. Although there is no information about the total number and variety of selectable items in the next game, the list should be larger and more diverse than in GTA 4.

The leaks also point to dedicated weapon pickup animations in the next game, which is another welcome change. In GTA 6, players will reportedly only be able to carry a limited number of weapons, so the ability to pick up items and weapons will provide an overall realistic and immersive experience.

3) Stores and purchasable properties

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas was the last single-player GTA game where players could purchase and manage various safe houses and properties. Although this feature is present in Grand Theft Auto Online, it is strangely missing from Story Mode. Michael, Franklin, and Trevor each have individual safe houses, but their availability is determined by the progress of the campaign.

This was a bit disappointing, considering the size of GTA 5’s map compared to San Andreas. Furthermore, Rockstar has brought back purchasable safe houses and various types of real estate in Grand Theft Auto Online. Online players can use any of their belongings as safe places, with most coming with a bed and other amenities.

It’s very likely that GTA 6’s map will be much larger than any of its predecessors, and as such, it’s imperative that Rockstar offers purchasable safe houses. Having multiple save points throughout the map can help with exploration, especially in small towns and the countryside.

The feature can be further enhanced by the ability to customize these safe houses, which exist to some extent in Grand Theft Auto Online.
