GTA London 1969 is a title that Rockstar Games should remake after the release of GTA 6 in 2025. The game was released more than two decades ago, in April 1999, and is actually an important package for the first ever entry in the series: Grand Theft Auto (1997 ). It is played from a top-down perspective, just like all Grand Theft Auto games before GTA 3, providing a unique gaming experience.

1) Introduction to a new generation of players

As mentioned, Grand Theft Auto London 1969 was released in 1999. It goes without saying that there are many players who have never played the game. In fact, there may be some who haven’t even heard of it.

Therefore, remaking Grand Theft Auto London 1969 after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 could be a great opportunity to introduce it to a new generation of players. This would make them more familiar with the history of the series and show how much Rockstar Games titles have evolved over the years.

2) Map outside the USA

Grand Theft Auto London 1969 map is located in London. All titles since Grand Theft Auto 3 have been set in fictional versions of American cities. Liberty City is inspired by New York, Los Santos is inspired by Los Angeles, and Vice City, which will also appear in the GTA 6 map, is inspired by Miami.

Therefore, the remake of the 1999 game will allow players to experience Grand Theft Auto outside the USA. This may not be a perfect recreation of the actual city, but it will be interesting to explore.

3) Bringing more classic games to modern platforms

Rockstar Games released remasters of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in 2021. 4) It shouldn’t take too much time

The GTA 6 release date will fall sometime in 2025. Once the game is out, Rockstar may start focusing on potential DLC or online mode (this has not been officially confirmed yet). However, Grand Theft Auto London 1969’s campaign only takes a few hours.

Its map isn’t large either, so remaking it shouldn’t take much of Rockstar’s time. The developer could also remaster it or port it to modern consoles as it recently did with 2010’s Red Dead Redemption.

5) A different experience

The gameplay in Grand Theft Auto London 1969 is very different from what modern players are used to. If remade or remastered, it would provide a completely different experience, even from modern Grand Theft Auto titles.

A GTA 5 source code leak revealed that unannounced games like Bully 2 and Agent may have been in the works at one point but may have now been cancelled. Fan reaction to this showed that there is a lot of interest in different types of Rockstar Games titles.
