After meeting its box office record in the second week, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal did well again on the third Saturday, earning Rs 13 crore, according to Sacnilk. This pushes the total animal collections to Rs 498.14 crore.

The movie boasted 22.14% Indian audience and 23.81% Telugu audience. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal crossed the Rs 800 crore mark worldwide. The makers shared that the film has earned Rs 817.36 crore. The T-series post reads, “#Animal remains invictus at the Box Office🪓🔥.”

In the first ten days of its release, Animal enjoyed a phenomenal run at the box office. However, on the 11th day, it fell sharply, 61 percent less, and collected Rs 13.85 crore. The decline continued into the second week, gaining single digits all around Rs 8 crore on Thursday and Friday.

Despite facing competition from Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, Animal has set a new record at the box office. The film was able to bounce back in its third weekend, showing growth on Saturday, and is expected to remain the same on Sunday.

However, challenges lie ahead as Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is slated to release alongside Prabhas’s Salaar in the coming week. Considering the box office success of SRK’s previous two films, Jawan and Pathaan, Dunki is all set to give tough competition to its host.

A festive offering

The movie Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film received mixed reviews and was criticized for glorifying violence. In the past, Animal has been a topic of conversation in the House of Commons within its filing office. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan criticized the film for its “justification of violence and misogyny.” “My daughter and a group of other children were watching the film. They cried and left the theater at halftime. The film’s justification of violence and misogyny is shameful,” he told the Upper House of Parliament.
