Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday urged tourists to follow rules and regulations, adding that police would not lock up drunk tourists; Instead, they will take them to hotels.

Due to the winter carnival, the state government has decided to keep hotels, restaurants and dhabas open 24 hours a day for the convenience of tourists. Apart from this, the police have been instructed not to harass tourists.

Inaugurating a week-long ‘Winter Carnival’ in Shimla to promote tourism in the state, the Chief Minister said, “We want to boost tourism in the state. We have opened eateries, joints and eateries that will operate 24 hours a day, starting from December 20 to January 5. So that… Tourists no problems.”

The Prime Minister further said, “The police will return drunken tourists to hotels instead of jails. I urge all tourists to follow the rules and regulations.”

The Prime Minister said that the carnival will be organized every year in Shimla. Many tourists feel awe after watching the winter carnival.

Many folklore artists expressed their joy at the winter carnival performance.

The artists are also happy to have a platform to perform in front of local and international tourists.

“I think the winter carnival is a great initiative to give a platform to the artists here. It is a good initiative to showcase the traditional art of the region,” said Joginder Singh Habi, a folk artist.

“After Corona, artists were not getting platforms, although there were floods that also hit festivals and such shows. Now it’s time for festivals and the New Year season. A large number of people have gathered here and it’s good to be here,” he added.
