A new movie titled ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ is now streaming on Netflix. The film stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles. Let’s see how it is.
story:
The story of Kho Jai Hum Kahan revolves around three friends Ahana (Ananya Panday), Imad (Siddhant Chaturvedi), and Neil (Adarsh Gourav). Imad is a comedian, and Neil is a gym trainer. They aim to make it big in their profession. On the other hand, Ahana, an MBA graduate, gets into a relationship problem. What happens in their lives forms the rest of the story.
Additional points:
‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ deals with a relevant topic that is more aimed at the modern-day youth. It exposes the harsh reality of being too attached to social media instead of living in the moment.
The film asks us to spend time with our loved ones instead of being glued to mobile screens all day. Not only that, but the film touches on multiple aspects that are very relatable. The nice part is that all of these things are told in an endearing way without being preachy.
The message was delivered to the community through the lives of three friends. Each of them is fighting their own problems, which are well intertwined with the harmful effects of social media. Just when we think the movie is going well, the filmmakers introduce a point of conflict between the friends and make the movie interesting.
Eventually, the film becomes darker and more intense, yet handled in a subtle way. Ananya Panday has improved a lot from her previous films and has done a good job. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav are great in their roles. Despite the lack of screen time, Kalki Koechlin is making a mark.
Minus points:
Although the concept and story are very good, the pacing of the film is slow for the most part. The first hour in particular could have been sharper and some redundant scenes could have been edited out for a better experience.
The concept of the film appeals more to the urban audience, other section of audience may not find it that great. The movie can be a little predictable at times. The humor part could have been written better.
Technical aspects:
The music is very good and matches the theme of the movie. Tanay Sattam’s cinematography is stunning, as is the production design. But the editing could have been much better.
Director Arjun Vareen Singh has done a good job in his debut film. The second hour is well-handled, and the filmmakers deserve credit for tackling many matters that are critical in this digital age.
Verdict:
On the whole, Kho Gayi Hum Kahan depicts how people give more importance to social media rather than enjoying the best moments of life. Many of these relatable aspects are showcased through the lives of three friends, played by Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav. The actors did a very good job. However, the slow narrative hampers the effect, and the running time could have been reduced. If you are ok with these flaws, you can give this movie a try.
