Three Power Transmission Projects News Related To Vedanta Share; New Target Price

According to a news, Sterlite Power Transmission Limited (SPTL) which is an entity owned by private equity of mining firm Vedanta Limited (NSE: VEDL), is transferring three of its power transmission projects located in India into its joint partnership with Singapore-based sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte. 

Three projects for power transmission in India are currently in development and have been approved, they will be handed over in the Sterlite Grid 32 Limited Joint Venture.

The report states that these projects are located in Kishtwar, Nangalbibra, and Fatehgarh. 

In the year 2000, SPTL collaborated with GIC to create the joint venture of a $1 billion platform. 

It was stated that the principal goal of this partnership is to capitalize on the growing need for energy evacuation systems in India.

Sterlite Power Projects

According to the company’s information, Sterlite Power, controlled by Anil Aggarwal, owns 34,000 kilometres of OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) based communications projects, that are either completed or in implementation under live line conditions across 108 major corridors in 15 states.

It is also a major producer of conductors, power cables, and OPGW and supplies every major state and private utility across India and exports its products to over 60 nations. 

The company has manufacturing facilities at Silvassa, Jharsuguda, and Haridwar.

What Does Sterlite Power Do?

Sterlite Power’s Global Infrastructure business line bids for, designs, and constructs an infrastructure for power transmission.

The company’s operations currently are located in India as well as Brazil.

According to the data Sterlite Power is the sponsor of India’s first power sector InvIT, India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) which is listed.

Sterlite Power MD Prateek Agarwal is the cousin of Anil Agarwal.
