Was there space DLC in development for GTA 5 before GTA 6? » Today Latest Stories

A GTA 5 source code leak has highlighted some DLC for the game’s canceled story mode. In fact, there may have been a total of eight canceled DLCs for the game, one of which, said to be titled Agent Trevor, would have included protagonist Trevor Philips. More details about the alleged Trevor DLC have now emerged online, suggesting it may have included missions in space.

However, let’s take a closer look at the Grand Theft Auto 5 space DLC that may have been in development before GTA 6.

Note: The information in this article is speculative and based on GTA 5 source code leaks.

A GTA 5 leak reportedly hints at space missions in the canceled story mode DLC

X (formerly Twitter) user @krierraa posted a screenshot of some code that appears to be part of the recently leaked GTA 5 source code. Floor space is mentioned several times in the image above, leading some to believe that one of the DLC for the game’s canceled story mode may contain featured missions in space.

Additionally, the mode’s protagonist, Trevor, who was also mentioned, suggests that he could have been part of the canceled Agent Trevor DLC instead of a separate space DLC.

Interestingly, X user @CrackerD1Drew believes the code in question refers to cinematic scenes. The lines in the image above begin with “trigger_scene” before mentioning space, as scene could mean a movie scene. However, @krierraa thinks this refers to tasks.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is full of hints about extraterrestrial life. From a frozen alien in North Yankton to UFOs and space-themed art installations in Blaine County, there are plenty of Easter eggs that hint at the presence of aliens in the game world.

So, one shouldn’t be surprised that the space was allegedly mentioned in the leaked source code for GTA 5. Perhaps Rockstar was planning to expand on extraterrestrial life in the game at some point.

Whatever the case, it’s difficult to determine whether this DLC was in development before Grand Theft Auto 6 or was in the works at one time before it was cancelled. This is because there is no clear idea of when exactly the GTA 6 development cycle began.

Although Rockstar announced active development for the sequel in February 2022, footage leaked last year suggests that work may have begun well before said announcement.

Since the game is confirmed to be released in 2025, it seems unlikely that Rockstar will focus on or reveal more about canceled GTA 5 DLC like Agent Trevor. However, @krierraa recently posted a similar screenshot that allegedly contains more details about the canceled Agent Trevor DLC.

Although space is not mentioned in this screenshot, the presence of the word Stromberg may refer to the Ocelot Stromberg, a submersible vehicle that players can purchase in Grand Theft Auto Online.
