Dimdim Pacres started playing volleyball when she was in elementary school, following the footsteps of her brother, who also played the sport. She joined the Cebu City Central School volleyball team and later transferred to Abellana National School, where she became a standout player. She was recruited by UST to join its high school volleyball program and eventually made it to the college varsity team.
Dimdim pursued a Bachelor of Science in Travel Management at UST and graduated in 2019. She played for the UST Golden Tigresses from 2015 to 2019, where she was a key contributor to the team’s success. She helped the Tigresses reach the finals of the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament in 2019, where they lost to the Ateneo Lady Eagles.

Volleyball Career, PVL
Dimdim Pacres made her debut in the PVL as an amateur player in 2017, when she suited up for the Fighting Warays. She was named the Best Opposite Hitter of the Reinforced Conference that year, after averaging 11.8 points per game. She also played for Tacloban in the Open Conference, where she ranked fifth in scoring with 15.6 points per game.
Dimdim, who last played in the UAAP Season 81 in 2019, admitted that she almost quit the sport due to various challenges and frustrations. She said she went through depression and tried different jobs such as working as a call center agent and selling food. She also revealed that she was scammed by some teams that promised her a spot in the PVL but did not materialize.
However, she did not give up on her dream and continued to work hard to get back in shape. She was given a chance by coach Lerma Giron, who recruited her to join the Highrisers, the newest team in the PVL. Pacres said she is grateful for the opportunity and hopes to prove herself in the league.
Nevertheless, she did not play in the PVL again until 2023, when it became the first professional volleyball league in the country. She revealed that she had received several offers from teams that wanted to join the PVL, but none of them materialized into actual contracts. She said that she felt like she was scammed and that she went through depression during those times.
She also tried various jobs to make ends meet, such as selling kwek-kwek (hard-boiled eggs dipped in orange batter and deep-fried), shakes, and suman (glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in banana leaves). She also worked as a call center agent for a while, but she said that she wanted to do a social media blackout because she could not bear to see her friends playing volleyball while she was not.
Dimdim Pacres said that she was motivated by her former UST coach KungFu Reyes, who encouraged her to work out and stay fit. She said that Reyes reminded her that she was one of the best players in her position and that she should not give up on her dreams. She also said that she considered joining the PVL as an answered prayer and a plot twist in her life.
She finally got her chance to play as a professional when she was signed by Galeries Tower Highrisers, a new team in the PVL led by head coach Lerma Giron. She made her professional debut on October 17, 2023, against Petro Gazz Angels, where she scored four points off the bench. She improved her performance in her second game against Chery Tiggo Crossovers on October 19, 2023, where she scored 11 points and showed flashes of her “Boom Pacres” level of play.
Dimdim said that she was happy to be back on the court and that she was grateful for the opportunity given to her by Galeries Tower. She said that she wanted to prove herself and help her team win games. She also said that she learned to appreciate the small things in life and that she was thankful for all the challenges that made her grow as a person and as a player.
